Say praise be to God and he will show you his signs and you will recognize them.

Veils, a symbol of the oppressed, a symbol of the oppressor, a symbol of terror, however you think of them, veils are also a little intriguing and maybe even a little inviting, they soften the view, create a safe distance. You can watch and you don't have to act. You can look without having your fantasy spoiled by reality. Sure some veils create scary walls: black prophylactics to hold men's possessions. But there are different kinds of veils. For me veils are preludes. What happens before the end: comfortable habits of naivete bracing for the removal, by the hand of God. You know how it is with us, believing as we do in something that controls us, loving as we do the humble mystery of it all, embracing as we do the safe harbor of mindless acquiescence. The veil is seduction, the veil is how you are captured, the veil is a way of holding you until the unveiling, the apocalypse. What lies behind the veil? The way of the veil is eternal mystery. I am here to lift the veil and put an end to all this eternity. Prepare for the horsemen.

Blessed is he who reads aloud the words of the prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written therein; for the time is near.
